So where do we start! Well, after much thought and planning, we decided to set up The Office Removal Team (it took us about 4 weeks to think of that name!). We just couldn’t believe how badly other people were doing removals out there. Okay, there were the professionals, but too many just seemed to want to get in and out and down the pub as quickly as possible.
We first opened our van doors in Jan, 2001 (or just after 8pm!).
Here’s what we said from the beginning:
- We would make our customers the number one priority
- We would just do things “right”
- We would carry out our work with a smile on our faces
- We would do what we said we would do, within time and within budget
…. quite simple really!
Within 3 months we successfully tendered for and won a contract to completely clear out a local college. It was at this point we realised that we were on our way and headed for a rapid rise from obscurity to prominence.
Over the next 4 years, we continued to grow the company by developing a great reputation for carrying out an excellent service. Not only were we carrying out plenty of office moves, but we were also becoming very good at it too.
In 2005, we decided to officially become members of the National Guild of Removers & Storers. This managed to raise our standards even further.
Since becoming a member, we have never failed to win the bi-annual awards in relation to our customer service (see our Awards & Affiliations page). Over 98% of our customers, in response to Questionnaires given at the end of a move, rate our service as being either very good or excellent.
In 2011, we decided to expand our services into other towns and cities including Manchester, Warrington and Leeds … which we done to great success and greatly serve these areas today with our main bulk of work being carried out here.
In 2012 we left the National Guild of Removers and became members of the BAR (British Association of Removers) and worked hard to attain the standard BS 8522 in Commercial Moving. A standard which we have maintained every year since. We also have CHAS Accreditation which we see as a must for every removal company.
The scope of our business and office moves include that of a one man office moving next door to a multi-national corporation moving across the country. We have become very experienced in sectors including SMEs and Corporates along with Public Sector and Education.
Due to the scale of the Team’s work, we are constantly travelling up and down the country with regular loads going to and from the London area, the South East and Scotland.
Alongside the rise of The Office Removal Team, in January 2007, it’s sister company, The Storage Team, was set up in St Helens (this was another company name we were up all night thinking about!). The Storage Team St Helens now provides over 50,000 sq ft of quality secure storage and business space. In 2014, a further self storage facility was opened in Wigan. This then relocated in July 2017 to brand new purpose built premises providing an extra 22,000 sqft of storage space. The Storage Team now offers 70,000 sqft of space to its customers who are predominantly based in the North West.
